Something for August Bank Holiday Weekend?
So this coming Bank Holiday Weekend will likely see us in Oxfordshire volunteering at the Overland Event organised by Overland Magazine to raise funds for a very worthwhile charity Motorcycle Outreach.
It’s a weekend meeting of friendly like-minded folk who will be mainly clad in functional clothing… not as boring as it sounds, it’s just that many members of the motorcycle travelling community will be there, on bikes of all sizes from Honda C50 Cubs to Triumph Rocket III’s.
It’s an excuse to sit around campfires and tents chatting and passing on knowledge – there will be stalls with vendors displaying desirable lightweight kit for many different types of bikes, presentations by writers, travellers, service providers and instruction in many skills… late night films produced and directed possibly by the person sat next to you on the grass, and you can even attend a seminar on how to do it yourself – food from many parts of the world – but more importantly people mixing and interacting. Overlanding heaven.
People ask why we travel by motorcycle … come along and find out!
