Keep on Running….
OK so Jules took to running a while back as a way of keeping fit and took part in a couple of charity runs which she really enjoyed.
Recently another friend has taken up running and the two of them are taking part in a couple of charity events and are regularly seen jogging round the local Parks Runs and pavements of Derby in preparation for a charity run on the 17th of April. Me I have until now preferred to keep to two wheels and race against my entries on Strava on my VooDoo Bikes 29er along the cycle routes of the area.
But as someone who enjoyed running when younger I started to become tempted…
Easter Sunday saw me kneebrace’d and Ron Hill’d pounding around the Jog Derbyshire mile circuit at Kedleston Hall, (whilst everyone else took to the 5k trail) being “owned” by our friends teenage daughter as she loudly claimed, running backwards , that she “couldn’t possibly run 3 miles” all the time jogging and even sprinting faster than this old crock without breaking a sweat! I can ride a pushbike at an average speed of 12 miles an hour all day on rough terrain but can’t run 100m up a slight incline! I was wiped out, exhausted , cream crackered… I wanted to leave this mortal coil… there wasn’t enough oxygen I could wheeze in … it was horrific…
