Cycle killa….
So what should have been a rest day for C25K saw me pull out the trusty 29er for a trip around my usual spare hour keep fit cycle route on Sunday. I don’t know if it’s the tyre tread or me but the mud once again proved a struggle on the canal tow path. Started being over taken by youngsters, so pulled off at Lowes Lane canal bridge to link up with the route back home. It’s a steep rise from there over the A50 and a fast freewheel down, and a Personal Record on Strava.
Actually it was a day of PR’s on three other segments that it didn’t feel I was pushing too hard on. Perhaps the running is helping but… my shin was starting to hurt again. Two Ibuprofen and an ice pack and the swelling went down, but back again today. More ice and it’s under control again. Will have to keep an eye on this as it the site of an old injury that might just be a weak spot.
Good news is my knees still feel good… given the lard I need to shift and the extra pressure it will cause it’s amazing they are holding out. Tuesday I start week 2!
